Growing up so fast

Sarah has been busy this winter. Mornings at the theater, afternoons in the pool, evenings spent dancing and practicing at bouncy (gymnastics) class. Not to mention fishing with dad and other winter fun.

Yes we are nearing the stereotypical over booked child but not quite. Dance is 30 minutes on Monday nights. The jury is still out on weather or not she really likes it. Swim class is Tuesday and is a must as far as dad is concerned considering the amount of time we may be spending on the boat next summer. Gymnastics is wed evening and is quality time reserved for mommy and Sarah. Dad has started Fly tying classes on these nights. A new cozy Ice shack has proven to be a big hit with Sarah. Pictures below will attest to it. Here are a few of some recent fun.

Here Fishy fishy fishy...                                                                                    Got one!

Catching fish is a lot of work as you can tell.

Sarah has also been doing a great job of learning to use the potty. Mom and dad have been thrilled with this development as most parents would be. It does make for some interesting situations however like how to go when out on the ice. Boy scout rule...always be prepared.

Well we just wanted to share a little bit and let everyone see how big Sarah is getting. Check back for more Sarah fun and check out http://blog.sportsmithfishing.com/ for more fishing news and stories. Remember to support our advertisers and help build that college fund!

Winter has come to Minnesota...and Sarah loves it.

Although many may dread the idea of cold snowy weather, Sarah simply cant get enough. The Snow is almost mesmerizing to her and everything that comes with Christmas time has just added to the fun. From Skating and sledding to Santa and cookies the past month has been a good time for Sarah. Below are a few pics that show a few high lights.

Sarah wasn't feeling real photogenic at the theater this day. She still thought the sugar plum fairies were great!

I never have met a 2 year old that really likes Santa. Sarah is no different.

Skating on the pond. She has gotten much better than last year. She still needs a little help every now and then.

Mommy's little helper in the kitchen.

Sledding and falling in the snow provides hours of fun. Hot cocoa is often the only way to get her back inside.

Sarah's artwork has also grown and she loves to try different colors as you can tell by the handful above.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Holidays.

Halloween Weekend

Sarah's first Halloween was a success. Trick or treating was a blast with most of our neighbors thinking she was "so cute". Although she is usually shy around strangers, she had no problem ringing doorbells and saying "Trick or Treat". A few more pics below.

Trick or Treat!

Last weekend the Maple Grove Community Organization held a kids Halloween party at Weaver lake park. Sarah donned her dogie costume that grandma Clark made her and we headed out for the fun.

They had lots of activities for the kids but one of Sarah's favorites is always the cut outs for pictures. They had several and she hammed it up.

They also had a two story inflatable slide and bouncy house. Both of them had lines full of kids. Sarah makes friends quickly and is happy to forget about us parents if a friend will play.

Since the whole event took place during nap time, Sarah was pretty pooped by the time we got home. Mom and Dad helped themselves to her candy while she slept. She will most likely get plenty more trick or treating tomorrow.

Sarah and Daddy Make a Snowman

The first snow of the year happened today and Sarah could hardly wait to get out and play in it. We got a little over the weekend but it was gone by mid afternoon and didnt amount to enough to play with much more than filling a bowl and eating it. That is always fun. This morning however there was several inches and it was a good packy snow. Perfect for making snow balls. Sarah wouldnt even take time to eat Breakfast. She was gathering up her new Dora jacket, boots, gloves, etc and bringing them to Mommy and Daddy as fast as she could. It is a little early but she doesn't know how wrong it is that we had 80 just a few weeks ago. All she knows is the white stuff tastes good. I guess we will have to teach her the yellow snow rules this winter.

Here are a couple pics from the days fun.

Not a bad looking Snowman huh...

North Shore Fun

Last weekend we took a little trip up to the north shore to look at the fall colors and to see some sights. We have never been up there so figured it could be fun. We checked out the Split Rock Lighthouse on Saturday as well as the two harbors break water. Sunday we took in the Goose berry falls and the Duluth zoo. All in all a pretty god weekend. Little rainy and icky the whole time but made us remember our days in Seattle. Here are a few pics.

Sarah Goes Bowling

Dad has been hanging out at a bowling alley lately. The pro shop there is doing trophies for a few of the fishing events he is helping to plan. Today we hung around a little longer and bowled a few frames.
At the counter they gave me the lightest ball and smallest pair of shoes. Turns out I needed bigger shoes and had to go back up for a bigger pair. It was so much fun rolling the ball down the ramp and watching it knock down the pins. I ended up with 75 although I have no idea what that means but it sure was fun. Daddy said that was great for my first time.

From there daddy took me to see mommy at work and go to one of my favorite places....Bubble tea! They have a water fall I can throw pennies in and the girls behind the counter always make me my own special drink with those little chewy balls in it. They are great!

Dad didn't bring the camera so no pictures. Maybe next time.

4th of July at the Lake

Well better late than never....

We spent the 4th of July at our lake place near Alexandria. Although the mosquitoes were a little worse than usual, a good time was still had by all. Here are a few of the shots we got while enjoying a weekend up north.

Sarah did get wet a number of times. She is becoming a little fish and has wet feet whenever she gets a chance. You will see many more water pictures of her in upcoming entries.

We attended a fantastic fireworks display at an area resort. Lots of people gathered and enjoyed a full food and beverage service prior to the show. Sarah was a huge fan of the popcorn and is pictured above enjoying the roomy comforts of her new double stroller/bike trailer.

Popcorn does tend to make one rather thirsty. Mom and Dad enjoyed the beverage service most.

On an unrelated side note, we recently joined the children's museum in St Paul. This will be a great place to spend a few Minnesota winter days.

On our first visit Sarah took the liberty of sampling what the place has to offer. It is a very neat place for children and kids at heart so if you are looking for somewhere to take the kids, I would recommend it.

More to come...

Potty

After 30 minutes of Mommy bribery with sugar, Dora stickers, Kai Lan coloring books etc, Guess who went on the potty tonight...... You guessed it Sarah. Mommy was about to give up and Sarah came back and said " I need to sit on the potty" and that was that. Cheers erupted from upstairs. I hope the neighbors didn't have their windows open.

I have a few past entries to do and hope to get to them in the next day or so.
